My Professional career the past 40 years enabled me to
develop my artistic skills in a very broad way by working in
all types of visual media. My recent retirement from this
career now allows me to devote time and energies into my
personal art. I look forward to studying and painting more
refreshing and positive aspects which life on this earth has
to offer.
My interest in artwork
has been life-long and is probably the result of supportive
parents, a great high school art teacher and a loving
supportive wife whom is a constant source of encouragement.
I
Attempt to reflect in my work on the richness of natural
life and human elements surrounding each of us. I find
the Northwest offers an unlimited source of reference
material to work from. I still find an influence of my
childhood growing-up in the Sumner/Auburn valley, surrounded
by the lushness of Western Washington’s uncontrollable
Blackberry vines, Saltwater and the nearby Cascade
Mountains. Though I have resided here since 1967, I’m still
in a state of exploration with Eastern Washington. It has a
rawness which is exemplified by hot summers and cold
winters.
I work in a variety of
mediums: Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic, Scratchboard and Pottery. I
enjoy experimenting with each and often apply watercolor and
acrylic to scratchboard to produce a mixed medium.
