Darrell Sullens began his art career at the age of
fifteen under Herman Keys in the 1950’s. His formal
education started with evening classes at
Whitworth
College in Spokane. (Auditing classes while still in high
school.) His formal education is in illustration
achieved at Spokane Falls College.
Darrell spent the late 1970’s and early 1980’s
teaching drawing and painting at the
Corbin Art Center.
In 1979,
Darrell and his wife purchased Ra-Tel’s Art Supply.
Although the rate of paintings slowed during this
time, the technical aspects and contacts gained,
have proved to be invaluable. During this time,
Darrell gave many lectures and art presentations at
local colleges and universities. Nineteen years
later in 1998 the business was sold and Darrell has
been painting full time in his studio in Spokane WA.
Darrell exhibits locally, nationally and
internationally.
