For over 40
years of occasionally interrupted painting, Olivia has worked
in a variety of media—watercolor, gouache, acrylics, oils and,
recently, ink on silk fabric. As a Japanese American she
focuses on distinctive cultural influences and explores
technique as well as subject matter to make her work
engaging: a social statement, an abstraction, a humorous
piece, or the mundane with an ironic twist.
Olivia’s
paintings have appeared in numerous juried shows in WA,
Montana, Georgia, and New York City from which a watercolor
was selected for the American Watercolor Society’s national
traveling show. She has won many other awards too.
